This place near the Utah and Arizona is called The Wave. Permits are granted to only twenty people per day to hike through the desert to this most unique formation of sandstone and are snapped up quickly. The reason for restricting traffic on this unusual geologic formation was apparent from the moment I first stepped onto it. The lines in the stone are ridges carved by wind over ages and crumbles beneath your feet. I actually felt somewhat guilty for even walking here.
